EAA 445 Monthly Meeting (Note the Chage of Date)

Tues 10/07/03

6:30 at the Old Terminal Building

The monthly meeting has been moved to the first Tuesday this month so we can finalize plans for the B-17. Volunteers are asked to please attend this meeting. Anyone who volunteers will automatically be

eligible for a drawing to have a chance to ride in the B-17 on it's trip to Orlando on Monday the 13th. Three names will be pulled from a hat.

Dave LeCornu will be bringing a party tray from the Deli.

Big Bend Flying Club

The Big Bend Flying Club meets on the first Wed of each month at various resturants around town. There are no membership dues and no real rules except to show up and enjoy some good presentations put on by other local pilots. If you are recieving this newsletter you are already on the list to be notified of club meetings and activities.

Wed Oct. 1 St 7:00 PM at Western Sizzlin on N Monroe St. Speaker will be Dennis Nye the "Flying Guy"

Dennis is on the Board of Directors - AngelFlight Southeast.

He has been flying AF missions for years and has flown dozens if not hundreds of missions. He is also very active in the CAP.

Big Bend Aviation Safety Counsel

The Big Bend Aviation Safety Counsel is made up of several area pilots who invest their time, motivation, and enthusiasm to share their aviation expertise with other airmen. They work closely with the FSDO Safety Program Managers to administer FSDO Safety Programs. They periodically take part in some of the following activities: conduct safety seminars, plan or support safety seminars, counsel airmen, attend recurrent counselor training, and volunteer as safety pilots.

I don't know if anyone there still remembers me, but I was one of the founders of the chapter - in fact, I suggested the original "Quincy Fun Fly-In" (over the objection of Harold Watson who thought it was too soon to try this) and left in '88 to transfer to Orlando with the FAA. I made it back once to the Quincy Fly-In in my motorhome, but unfortunately, I am tied up with Sun 'n Fun work about every time Quincy is scheduled. ( I am one of the Chairmen there). I hope to gert up there to see you folks again maybe before too long - Sure was surprised and sorrowed to see Leon Friedman's memorialo brick. Best Regards to all - Bob Hayden

Flightline and EAA445 present the 'Road to Kitty Hawk' B-17 Tour in Tallahassee

EAA’s B-17 bomber Aluminum Overcast will be comming to Tallahassee Oct. 9-13th on one of the last legs of the 2003 Road to Kitty Hawk tour.

Flight missions are scheduled for Oct. 10-12 at TLH. This event will be hosted by Flightline and EAA445.
