Letter From The Editor

Welcome to the August issue of the Big Bend Flyer.  The big news last week was the crash of a FedEX  727
just short of runway 9.  There has been a lot of speculation from people around the airport about what might have caused the crash but so far there has been no official word.  It was actually a "good landing" since all the people on board were able to walk away from it.

Our membership at EAA445 continues to grow and we are in the process of nominating new officers.  If you are interested in becoming an officer or if you would like to nominate someone else, please come to the next meeting.
We have a very diverse group of pilots in the Big Bend area and there is no reason we couldn't take on a big project like building or restoring an airplane.  All we need is people like you who are willing to make it happen.

I hope to see you on Tuesday the 13th.

John Sivyer
