It's Comming!

The excitement is in the air! You have no doubt seen the posters, billboard ,TV and heard the radio spots for Airfest2005. This publicity has been a combined effort by members Pete Rayner,Calvin Sherman and Alan Hanstein.  We are getting triple the hits on our website and Airfest chairperson Ed Copes is getting last minute e-mails from people wanting to participate.

Ed has taken this event  to a new level.  As he said at the meeting Saturday, with the expected higher general public turn out, we all need to take safety as our own responsibility.  If you see something unsafe developing, please consider yourself empowered to take ownership of it and step in to intervene. Be particularly vigilant when it comes to spinning props. Some of the public may not realize the danger.

I want to thank everyone who has volunteered to help out this year.  We could never pull something like this off without all the people who have pitched in to help.  We have a great chapter here in Tallahassee.

See you at the Airfest,

John

This billboard south of hwy 20 on Capital Circle is just one of the many ideas new member Alan Hanstein had for promoting Airfest 2005.  Alan joined less than two months ago and has been a hudge help.

EMAILS

Good day.  I am presently working at the Tallahassee Regional Airport.  One of my projects is the creation of displays for the Aviation Museum.  I am very much interested in designing a display about the EAA for the next quarter, July 1, 2005 - September 30, 2005.  Towards this goal, I had the opportunity to download the Powerpoint "Intro to EAA" presentation.  In addition to this presentation, the airport is interested in borrowing the
following items for this three-month period:

Sport Aviation Magazine , EAA Patches, EAA Pins
EAA DVD ,EAA Hat, Jacket, T-Shirt, Sweatshirt
EAA Decal or Poster ,Replicas of: Experimental Aircraft, Vintage Aircraft, Ultralights, Light Sport Aircraft

Please advise if these items, or other memorabilia, are available for loan to create a display at our Aviation Museum.  Any assistance that you are able to provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration.

Cheryl L. Jackson

If anyone has any of thises items for Cheryl please send me an e-mail president@eaa445.org

My name is Jennifer McNatt and I am a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee.  I am the aviation focal point for the office and while looking for local aviation organizations, came across your website.
Our office is very interested in working with local aviation
organizations in order to futher promote aviation weather safety.  If you are interested in having your group come to the weather station here in order to see how we put together aviation forecasts, or if you would like someone to speak to your group on aviation weather, we would
be more than happy to work with you.  We would also like any feedback/suggestions as to our forecasts and support to general aviation.
Please feel free to contact me at any time - e-mail is best as we work shifts and are sometimes hard to get a hold of during normal hours.

Thank you,
Jennifer

Jemnifer will be at the Airfest and will also speak at our  meeting in June.

Hi,

I came across your EAA site and like all of the information you have. I would like to suggest a link to add. My site is
www.xcpilot.com and it contains airport and weather information.

Possible categories: Flight planning, airports, weather

Title: XCPilot.com
Url:
http://www.xcpilot.com
Description: Free airport directory of all US airports, including current FAA data, local maps, instrument procedures, real-time weather and an easy to use pilot forum.

I would be happy to provide a reciprocal link if you require one.

Thanks!

Kevin Mackenzie
Founder, XCPilot.com

XC- Pilot link was added to our website

This is supposed to give you a graphic illustration of air traffic over L.A. in real time but I can't get it to work.

Let me know if it works for you.
