Good Morning:

Some of you may have received the email below from faasafety.gov. If so,
please excuse my email to you.

But for those who did not receive it, you might be interested.....

FAASafety.Gov has now expanded its services to aircraft owners by providing

You might wish to give this option serious consideration.

New offering from FAASafety.gov

FAASafety.gov now offers you the ability to receive Unapproved Parts Notices (UPNs) from the FAA's Suspected Unapproved Parts Program Office AVS-20.UPNs are advisory alerts regarding unapproved parts that may pose a safety threat to the aviation community.  Links to two current UPNs are below.  If you do not wish to receive these notices, no action is required.  You will not receive them in the future.
If you would like to receive these notices (10 to 15 per year), please do
the following: Click on "e-mail preferences" at the bottom of this message.  Or, go to FAASafety.gov. Log in. Select "Preferences" under Standard Options on the left column if you are not on the Preferences page already. Place a check mark in the box next to "Unapproved Parts Notification". Log out. You will now receive UPNs as they are issued.  Remember, you may always return to the "Preferences" page and uncheck this option in the future. Current UPNs.......
This UPN involves West Coast Cylinder Works of Santa Fe Springs, CA. They improperly maintained R-1820 engine cylinders. The affected cylinders were either sold as spare parts or installed on engines subsequently overhauled and approved for return to service by Airpower, Inc., of Lakeport, CA. Here is a link to unapproved parts notification (UPN) #2004-00210.

This UPN involves Falcon Aircraft Accessories (FLAC) of Mesa, AZ. FLAC
performed improper maintenance on aircraft alternators, generators, and
starters.

Dear  John / Chapter 445,

EAA Chapter 517 will soon be entering the last month of our fund raising KitFox SWEEPSTAKES.  We still have tickets and would like to enlist your help letting EAA members know of our effort.  We are hoping that every EAA Chapter and affiliate could generate the purchase of at least 10 tickets by individual sales or at the bargain group purchase rate.

Interestingly, so far two Chapters have purchased tickets in the name of the Chapter.  I presume that if the Chapter wins the airplane they will use it as a fund raiser themselves. This KitFox could earn a lot of Chapters money, if more Chapters kept winning it.

The purpose of this note is to ask you to publish the following in your March newsletter, if you would be so kind.  Please also feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone on your Chapter e-mail mailing list.

Thank you for your assistance.
