EAA445's Official Electronic Newsletter

November  2004

Flying back from Apalachicola Saturday we could see the Capital from 30 miles away.  It made me think how fortunate we are to live in Florida.   We will have some of our clearest flying days of the year in the next couple of months, while the folks up north contemplate putting their birds away for the winter.

Our first Young Eagles Rally of the year will be this Saturday the 13th and we are hoping for the same kind of weather we had last weekend.  If you know of any youngsters would have never had a flight in a small airplane, please invite them to attend.

A couple of our members, Danny Deason and Kelley Phillips recently flew some "Young Eagles" and as you can see from the pictures, made  the day for a couple of lucky kids.

Scott O'Brien will be speaking about GPS approaches at our meeting tomorrow night and Winston Scott will be the speaker at our Christmas Dinner on Dec the 15th.

If you haven't been to a meeting for a while come on out.  We would love to see you again.

Take care and safe flying,

John

Here is a brief video link to what I am teaching up here to initial CFI candidates up here in North Dakota. I wish I could steal the Decathlon up here and give everyone in the Chapter an opportunity to have some spin/unusual attitude training. I am the one flying the airplane and my student in the rear seat is filming ... read more

Dear Fellow EAAers:

EAA Chapter 517, in western Montana, is conducting a fund raising sweepstakes.  The Grand Prize is a beautiful KitFox Model V that was completed in 1997.  This airplane has approximately 110 hours on the engine and airframe.   I've attached a copy of a press release.

It is our hope that your Chapter will be kind enough to alert your members through your Chapter newsletter and if your Chapter has a web site, we would appreciate you adding a link to our website.  We do have pictures of the airplane, more detailed information about the airplane, as well as the rule for the sweepstakes and the sweepstakes entry form.
We will only be issuing a maximum of 4,000 tickets and as long as we receive a $25.00 donations for at least 1,800 tickets the Grand Prize KitFox will be awarded. Please see the rules for complete details.
I will keep you posted, once or twice more, to let you know about ticket availability.  Your help spreading the word about our sweepstakes is greatly appreciated.  If we can help your Chapter somewhere down the line, please let me know.

Thank you,
Steve Rossiter
